VENEZUELAN president Hugo Chavez has threatened to stop US carriers flying to his country in retaliation for the US continuing to restrict access to the South American country”s airlines. Delta and Continental Airlines face the prospect of losing their rights to capital Caracas, while American Airlines will have its schedule drastically cut. The move is the latest in an ongoing spate between Chavez and George Bush”s administration as Venezuela accuses Washington of trying to destabilise the country.
