Bristol International Airport is now 100% owned by Macquarie Bank Ltd, of Australia following the sales in its stake of the operation by the Spanish company Ferrovial. Earlier this year Ferrovial itself purchased BAA, which includes in the UK Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports. Amongst its many UK investments Macquarie is in the process of acquiring Thames Water. It has substantial interests in Brussels, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Rome and Sydney airports and is discussing a possible investment into Qantas.
