BAA Plc could be in for a difficult time regarding ownership after the European Court of Justice ruled last week that the a "golden share” held by the government is illegal. Under the present arrangement any major business decision by the company must have final approval from government as a shareholder. All other investors are limited to a 15%. If the government is forced to sell its holding the company, which operates Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Southampton and Stansted airports, plus a host of related operations, could fall into the hands of bidders from anywhere in Europe. http://www.baa.co.uk
