LONDON CITY AIRPORT tells ABTN that around 180,000 passengers have used the new British Airways services at the Docklands airport since the introduction of the carrier”s first mainline LCY operations just 12 months ago. After some initial changes the flights have now settled down to three times daily services to Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Geneva and Zurich using 110-seat AVRO 146 regional jets. The short walking distances at the airport means that minimum check-in has been kept at 15 minutes in spite of increased security vigilance. With the coming on the dockland railway at the end of next year traffic volume at the airport is expected to increase substantially. On the negative side the airport is to lose its three times weekdaily FlyBE service to Jersey from 16 June. Other airlines are known to be looking at the route
