BRITISH AIRWAYS has hired Dr Chris Idzikowski with a brief to make the airline an industry leader in sleeping at 35,000 feet. He has invented what he calls a ”cure” for jet lag; he says the body clock is affected by four main factors, light, sleep, exercise and food. On the new website British Airways has placed a short questionnaire, which is then dealt with by an advisor who makes a calculation of the best times to expose oneself to light and darkness, as well as the best times to eat and exercise. Dr Idzikowski is said to be one of the UK”s leading authorities on sleep and is based at the Edinburgh Sleep Centre.
