AVCRAFT, the American owner of the Dornier 328 JET brand (and sister Envoy corporate jet series) is pressing on towards a re-starting of the production line in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich by the summer. A maintenance completions and overhaul facility is to be opened beginning April in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA. AvCraft says it is now in active dialogue with all its suppliers to build new Dornier 328JETs at an initial annual production rate of 18 aircraft. If demand dictates, the line has an annual capacity of 54 aircraft.
