FREETOWN, capital of Sierra Leone, is to gain a third weekly Astraeus flight from Gatwick starting Wednesday 30 November and increasing frequency over Christmas and New Year. Astraeus has been operating the route since June 2004 on a Monday and Friday, using a 189-seat Boeing 757, with a flight time of six hours 30 minutes. Essentially a charter airline, Astraeus operates from Gatwick to a number of other scheduled destinations, including Accra (Ghana), Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), and also to Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) from both Gatwick and Manchester.
