ASIANA AIRLINES is to go ”Connexion by Boeing” for its mobile connectivity service. Asiana, who have a very low profile in the UK, is one of two airlines serving Seoul direct from the UK, the other being Korean. In fact it is one of the few ex-LHR destinations where the competition is from two overseas carriers with no British operator established on the route. Now 16 years old and a member of Star Alliance, Asiana is determining the initial passenger routes for the service, which are likely to include flights between Korea and the US; Korea and Europe; and intra-Asian routes, including mainland China and Japan. The airline has targeted introduction of its first Boeing 777-200ER aircraft for July 2005.
