NEWCASTLE is to be linked to the USA for the first time when American Airlines introduces a new daily scheduled service to New York's John F. Kennedy airport commencing May 2006. The new flights will be operated by Boeing 757 aircraft offering an all-economy class service with 188 seats. AA already uses single class 757s on summer operations from Manchester to Boston and Miami which also has an all the year round 767 service to Chicago. From Heathrow the world”s largest airline serves Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles, Miami and New York whilst Gatwick is the UK departure point for Dallas/Fort Worth and Raleigh/Durham. American Airlines is part of the OneWorld alliance, as is British Airways.
