AMERICAN AIRLINES has re-launched its seasonal transatlantic service between Glasgow and Chicago for summer 2003. Daily flights depart Glasgow Airport at 1050 arriving at Chicago O'Hare International at 1250 local time. The return service departs Chicago at 1930, arriving at Glasgow Airport at 0845. Passengers from Glasgow have access to more than 100 cities throughout the States served by American and its regional affiliate American Eagle. According to the airline the seasonal service, which started in 1995, has been increasingly successful year on year, with around a quarter of passengers stopping in Chicago and the remaining traffic using the destination as a hub through which to fly onto other parts of the United States. The eight-hour flight uses a Boeing 767 in a two-class configuration, the economy section predominantly offering a 34" seat pitch rather than the industry standard of 31-32". http://www.aa.com
