AIR FRANCE is the latest airline to go totally e-ticket in its operations from Britain and Ireland. As well as Paris the airline serves Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes and Bordeaux from various UK airports and also flies from London City Airport to Dublin. All that is required is to show a passport at check-in (except for the Irish route where a credit card or driving licence will do) and this is matched to the reservation on the computer. Passengers with e-tickets travelling with hand-baggage only can use one of the self-service check-in kiosks at Heathrow T2, and the soon to appear units at Air France regional departure points. E-ticketing works very well except at security conscious airports such as Tel Aviv”s Ben Gurion where paperwork is demanded by the safety scrutinisers. You still have to collect a simple ticket from the desk.
