ALITALIA is to introduce a twice-daily service from Manchester to Milan Malpensa on 1 July. The route will be operated by a two class Airbus A319 with a flight time of 2 hours 15 minutes. The route will compete with a long established British Airways operation, served by the slower AVRO RJ which takes 30 minutes longer.
