ALITALIA hardly did itself a favour with the travelling public last Friday (7 January) when cabin staff staged what was termed a "snack strike" to protest against new working conditions at the Italian carrier. It could have been worse, the withdrawal of refreshments only taking place on European services between 1100 and 1500 local time but is an indication that things are far from rosy, a state carrier desperate to stay in business. The airline”s union says it has made its point regarding grievances.
