Italian airline Alitalia has announced the opening of new lounges in Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa airports.
According to the airline, the new “Casa Alitalia” concept is designed to reflect the space in an Italian home.
Features include a live cooking area and buffet, private meeting rooms, a library, prayer room and bathrooms with showers. The airline has partnered with premium Italian brands such as Poltrona Frau on furnishings and coffee manufacturers Lavazza, who have created exclusive blends for passengers.
At Rome Fiumicino, the 800 sqm lounge has replaced Alitalia’s former “Giotto” lounge in boarding area G, and can accommodate 115 guests.
At Milan Malpensa airport, the lounge spans 500 sqm in the Satellite Nord boarding area, with capacity for 90.
Lounges in Venice, Catania, Milan Linate and at the former “Dolce Vita” lounge in Terminal 1 of Rome Fiumicino have been recently renovated, with lounges at New York JFK and Naples Capodichino airport close to completion.
Two new lounges in Molo B and Molo F areas at Rome Fiumicino will be unveiled in September and early 2017.
The lounge is open to business class and holders of the airline’s Freccia Alata, Freccia Alata Plus and SkyTeam Elite Plus members as well as holders of Alitalia American Express Platinum cards who are flying with Alitalia.
Single admission to the lounge costs €30 and can be purchased online or at the airport.
