AIRBUS is evaluating a revolutionary new economy class passenger seat that could change airline cabins forever. In conjunction with German engineering company AIDA it is currently static testing a seat that is not dissimilar to those we are all used to from the cinema. Basically it is a tip-up seat that locks into position for take off and landing but becomes self-stowing for embarkation and disembarkation or when a passenger needs to get out. An IFE (In Flight Entertainment) package would be installed too. The test has created great interest and Airbus hopes to make an announcement shortly.
