WARSAW is to have more competition from today (15 December) when Air Polonia introduces six days a week budget flights from Stansted in competition to British Airways and LOT. At the same time the airline will start services to Poznan (initially twice weekly) and Katowice (three times a week). The carrier currently operates a pair of 168-seat Boeing 737-400 aircraft and says it hopes to add three more aircraft in time for next summer. Initially the carrier is using the main terminal at Warsaw but hopes to move to the original passenger building as soon as it is refurbished in the new year. The simple facilities make it much easier for both airline and its customers who can be away within 10 minutes of landing.
