Air New Zealand has announced it will launch a nonstop service between Auckland and Chicago from 30 November.
The new service will be included in a codeshare agreement with United Airlines, which will see Air New Zealand will place its code on around 100 United flights from around the US for connections in Chicago.
The direct flight from Auckland to Chicago will take approximately 15 hours, while the return service will take 16 hours. It will operate three times a week year-round on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday on Air New Zealand’s new configuration B787-9 Dreamliner. Tickets for the new flights are now on sale.
United has also announced it will increase the frequency of its San Francisco-Auckland service from April 2019 to three flights a week. The flights will operate onboard a B777-300ER between November and March and a B777-200ER from April to October.
