AIR NEW ZEALAND has become the first airline to order the Boeing 7E7 with actual engines. The carrier last week announced that it is to take two of the all-new 7E7 and eight Boeing 777-200ER. All the aircraft will be powered by variants of Rolls-Royce Trent series engine. Lead 7E7 airline ANA is yet to make up its mind regarding an engine supplier. The interiors for these new aircraft will mirror the soon-to-be unveiled upgrade for Air New Zealand's Boeing 747s. The airline will gradually drop some of its existing 767s as the ”Triple Sevens” begin to arrive from September next year.
