AIR NELSON has taken delivery of the first of 17 Bombardier Q300 aircraft which will gradually replace the airline”s much smaller Saab 340s over the next two years. Air Nelson is New Zealand”s main regional carrier, now 100% owned by Air New Zealand. Originally created in 1976 it takes its name from the city on the top northwest corner of the South Island founded 150 years ago. Nelson of course never went to New Zealand.
