AIR LUXOR, the Portuguese airline who operates services from Gatwick to Lisbon, has issued a strongly worded statement emphasising that LUXOR AIR is nothing to do with them. According to media reports the Egyptian airline has been banned by the French civil aviation authority (DGAC) from flying or landing in French territory for an undetermined period of time. Belgium, Switzerland and Italy have prohibited this same company to fly over their territory. This prohibition in France follows another one, for a period of 10 days, applied last March. Air Luxor is a very successful privately owned Portuguese airline established back in 1988.
