AIR LUXOR, the new Gatwick carrier, has announced an IPO (Initial Public Offering) for the first quarter of 2004 and has said it wants to be the leading Portuguese national airline company within five years. Founded in 1988, Air Luxor has a fleet of 16 aircraft, mainly Airbus aircraft with A330 models for long haul and A320 for medium length routes. In the 2003 financial year, the company expects to fly more than a million passengers, with sales of around E200m, and pre-tax profits greater than E10m. The company is in discussion with a number of banking groups to lead the IPO. A choice is to be made between Deloitte, KPMG or Ernst & Young as auditors. A ”Road Show” will take place in the month of March and the IPO operation will be concluded by April 2004.
