AIR LITTORAL, which has been trading ”very satisfactory” since it went under French receivership rules on 21 August, might well become owned by Wexford Capital, the Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, investment company whose interests include Frontier Airlines. The arrangement could involve European partners currently anonymous. Founded in 1972, the French regional carrier was sold by its original family investors to British Airways, who disposed of it to Swissair, the airline being bailed out by the French government when that carrier failed. The airline carried 1.3m passengers last year hubbing out of Nice and Montpellier and a fleet of 32 aircraft comprising 17 Bombardier CRJ, 5 Fokker 70 and 10 ATR 42-500. http://www.airlittoral.com
