AIR FRANCE has introduced a four times daily two-class BAe 146 service between London City Airport and Dublin, operated by the AF-owned and Dublin-registered Cityjet. AF says that the service will go up to six times daily next year, they (and the airport) convinced that frequency is the key to success at LCY. The route was previously operated by Aer Lingus, who no longer have the the regional jet in their fleet. Surprisingly it was not taken up by British Airways, who now fly from the east London dockland strip to Frankfurt, Geneva and Glasgow. Another operator, VLM, is also increasing frequency, Brussels with eight weekdaily return flights from January, and reported to be planning no less than 12 services in each direction to Manchester from next spring.
