AIR CANADA” whose future is far from certain, sprung a surprise in the week before Christmas with a jet aircraft order for 45 Brazilian built Embraer 190 and 15 Bombardier CRJ200 50-seat aircraft plus 30 Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft with a dual-class cabin configuration of nine business class and 65 economy seats. Details of the deal with Embraer were not available as we went to press but the aircraft are expected to be delivered with a two-class layout and probably 90 seats.
