AIR BOTNIA has taken what is probably the last four large commercial aircraft to be built in the UK. The Finnish regional airline, which is part of the SAS Group, has signed a deal with BAE Regional Aircraft to receive the final production run of a machine that started life in 1973 as the de Havilland HS 146 and was launched as the BAe 146 before being developed into the successful AVRO RJ series. A total of 390 aircraft were built, the first one flown in 1981, the cancellation of the line announced in November 2001. http://www.bae.regional.co.uk
