RIGA, the capital of Latvia, which joins the EU in May, is to have an alternative carrier to British Airways when airBaltic introduces a six times per week service in March. A Boeing 737-500 will be used. The airline is also introducing a weekly Dublin service. The airline is the national airline of Latvia, jointly owned by the Latvian State and Scandinavian Airlines/SAS. airBaltic flies non-stop to 15 destinations from Riga to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kiev, Minsk, Moscow, Stockholm, Tallinn, Vienna, Vilnius, Warsaw and Prague.
