AIR ATLANTIQUE continues to expand, now with the sale of Coventry Airport completed. The airline has acquired a second, and is considering a third, ATR 42 following the introduction of the first aircraft earlier this year. Having just completed five weeks” flying for bmi, based at Leeds Bradford, the aircraft is presently operating for Air Lithuania, hubbing out of Riga. Within the group Atlantic Reconnaissance (ARL), whose major customer is the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA), recently won a major extension to a contract they have held with the Environmental Agency for the patrol of the UK maritime area of interest including the English Channel. ARL flies a Cessna 404, Cessna 406 and BN Islander. With EU commitments included in the package the company is exploring the possibilities of using its expertise in overseas markets.
