Kazakhstani carrier Air Astana will begin a new nonstop
service between Almaty and Frankfurt on 2 October. The flights are timed to
connect with partner Lufthansa's service to London Heathrow, Birmingham and
Manchester in the UK and will also provide connections to Lufthansa's network
elsewhere in Europe and North America. Air Astana plans to operate two flights
per week on the route and add a third flight on 26 October. The carrier already
operates flights between Frankfurt and Kazakhstan's capital, Nur-Sultan, which
it restarted in August.
