EMBRAER has officially handed-over the first of five Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets to Mexican operator Aerolitoral. The airline, a subsidiary of Aeromexico, placed a firm order for five of the 50-seat jets in December 2003 and holds possible options for up to 25 additional aircraft. It is currently an all turboprop operator with a fleet of 22 aircraft flying almost 200 daily services to 38 destinations in Mexico and overseas. The first three aircraft were delivered to the airline in early June and will be joined by the two additional aircraft by September.
