AEROFLOT is to acquire 18 A320 family aircraft including both A319s and A320s. Aeroflot will take delivery of its first Airbus single-aisle aircraft ” an A319 ” in the autumn of 2003, followed shortly by an A320. The Airbus A320 family aircraft are destined to fly on Aeroflot's European network. Powered by CFM International CFM56-5 engines, Aeroflot”s A319s and A320s will feature a two-class cabin layout. Currently Aeroflot operates a fleet of two Boeing 777-200ER, 10 Boeing 737-400, 11 Airbus A310 and four Boeing 767-300ER plus some ancient and modern Russian jet aircraft, most of which will be disposed of with the completion of a deal under negotiation for nine Boeing 767-300ER.
