Aeroflot will now split a long awaited order for new aircraft between Airbus and Boeing (see last week”s ABTN) chief executive Valery Okulov CE told reporters at an economic forum in the Siberian city of Irkutsk last week. Aeroflot wants 22 Airbus' and 22 Boeings. However these aren't considered firm orders and both manufacturers have declined to comment.
Aeroflot is owned by the state which through the national bank recently acquired a 5% interest in EADS, soon to become the sole owner of Airbus.
