AER LINGUS in a surprising statement has confirmed that the three most senior members of the management team, Willie Walsh, Chief Executive, Seamus Kearney, Chief Operations Officer and Brian Dunne, Chief Financial Officer have tendered their resignations effective May 2005. Walsh joined the airline as a cadet pilot in 1979. Earlier this year, the three men sought permission from the Government to pursue a management buy out of the airline, however they subsequently announced that they were abandoning that plan. What the three plan to do once they have left Aer Lingus has not been revealed.
