CORK bound visitors from the Midlands wanting to travel to Southern Ireland will soon have even more choice from Birmingham International Airport. Aer Lingus is to add Cork to its Birmingham operation from 20 June. The state carrier, which is one of BIA's longest serving airlines (since 1949), also operates four flights daily to Dublin from Birmingham. The new EI flights will operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. bmi Baby is pulling off the route at the end of the winter season. Aer Arran operates twice daily using an ATR 72 with 68 seats. Aer Lingus will use a174-seat Airbus A320.
