ABERDEEN AIRPORT last week gained a new domestic British city and lost an airline on another UK destination. From the beginning of the winter season Eastern Airways is to introduce a twice weekdaily service to Bristol with a Jetstream 41 jetprop aircraft with an additional rotation on Sunday afternoons, the airline”s 10th route from the granite city. It has qualified for support from the Scottish Executive's Route Development Fund, administered by Scottish Enterprise. Eastern now has the East Midlands route all to themselves, once again a J41 operation and three times daily. BMI Commuter has withdrawn their single EMB 145 jet service.
