AIR ATLANTIQUE has now placed into service a second ATR 42 which is currently on a wet lease to BMI. The first aircraft continues flying with Air Lithuania, hubbing out of Riga (see ABTN 24 May). Atlantique boss Mike Collett says he is delighted with the ATR 42 but will probably look towards adding an ATR 72 either later this year or early 2005. To date ATR has sold 688 aircraft (381 ATR 42 and 307 ATR 72) and this year has posted a total of 12 orders, much in line with the production schedule. The company has also placed 33 second-user aircraft including three to Air Deccan, the Indian budget airline now with ten ATRs, who says its next move is for new aircraft.
