AER LINGUS, in its post Willie Walsh mode, continues expansion. Still the Irish state airline (although of course not the country”s largest carrier in passenger terms), it announced just before Christmas six new routes from Dublin and Cork. EI will base a fourth A320 in Cork from June and launch services to Berlin (thrice-weekly), Birmingham (thrice-weekly) and Tenerife (weekly). It will add frequencies on routes to Alicante, Amsterdam, Malaga, Nice, Rome and Warsaw. From Dublin, Poznan is added twice weekly from 28 March. In Poland it already serves Warsaw (daily) and Krakow (three times per week). Also new is Palma (thrice-weekly) and Rennes (twice-weekly).
