Twenty14 Holdings, the hospitality arm of Lulu Group International, has completed an £85 million acquisition of the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian.
The company says it intends to invest a further £20 million into a programme that will see the hotel expanded by 50 guest rooms over a period of two years beginning in 2019. The investment will also include renovation to the property.
The Caledonian operates under Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria brand. It opened in 1903 and currently has 241 guest rooms, a selection of meeting spaces, a spa and two restaurants operated by Michelin-starred chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin.
Adeeb Ahamed, managing director of Twenty14 holdings, commented: “We are excited to add the Caledonian to the portfolio of Twenty14 Holdings. With more than 100 years of history, the Caledonian brings with it a rich heritage, character and unique opulence.”
