SYDNEY has now followed New York in having a Taj Hotel. The up-market Indian hotel group has confirmed that its recently acquired property, formerly known as The W, and in Woolloomooloo Bay and close by the Opera House and Circular Quay business district, has been re-named BLUE. The 100-room, five-year old hotel was voted among the "Top 3 Best Hotels for location in Australasia & South Pacific" in the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List 2006. As can be seen in our picture, left, the view is very fair. Back in July Taj Hotels acquired another international property, The Pierre in Fifth Avenue, New York, opposite Central Park.
