STEIGENBERGER, the family owned German hotel group, came to London as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the company. Whilst it does not have any hotels in the UK, nor plans to have any as things stand, the company does have a strong British clientele. Currently Steigenberger encompasses 77 properties, 68 in Germany, four in Austria, three in Switzerland, one in Egypt and the famous and impressive Kurhaus, at the resort of Scheveningen in Holland. It operates under two distinct brands: Hotels and Resorts, four and five star; and Inner City Hotels in the three star market. Five new projects are currently under way including the Al Dau Resort Red Sea.
