SHANGRI-LA has been busy announcing not one but two hotels in the US, the Hong Kong Company”s first investment in North America.
Due to open in early 2009, the Shangri-La hotel Chicago is in the new Water View Tower, located along the Chicago River on the corner of West Wacker Drive and Clark Street.
The 200-guestroom property will be situated on floors 12 through to 27 of the 90-storey structure, within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, Lake Michigan and the city”s central business district and world-class theatres and museums.
The Miami Shangri-La will probably open in 2008 and is situated on Biscayne Bay and is part of a $480m mixed use, Islands” Garden Project. There will be 147-guestrooms, suites and poolside villas, all to Shangri-La”s exceptional standards.
