REGENT, a brand of hotel owned by Carlson Hotels Worldwide, which includes Radisson, is to add a total of nine properties over the next two years to its existing luxury portfolio. Current operating hotels are located in Almaty, Berlin, Beverly Hills, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Zagreb. Global development for Regent is at an all time high. In the Americas, four hotels are presently under construction, three hotels in Florida (South Beach, Bal Harbour, and Winter Park), and one in Boston. Asia will see the rise of three new Regent hotels in Bangkok, Beijing and Ningbo (China). In EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) two Regent hotels are under development in Budapest and Kuwait. Regent is also to become the new name of Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, Carlson”s ”six star” cruise line, described by the company as epitomising the Regent brand of ultimate luxury. It is a clever move in that they don”t have to alter their RSSC (Radisson Seven Seas Cruising) branding. Regent Seven Seas Cruising is still RSSC.
