BUENOS AIRES has a new super luxury hotel. The Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt, has now opened.
For those familiar with that invigorating city it is located in the fashionable Recoleta shopping and residential district on the Avenida Alvear, and very close to the long established, traditional, and very popular five star Alvear Palace.
The magnificently restored Palacio Duhau itself, was originally built in 1934, is one of the few remaining palaces representing the boom times before the outbreak of the second world war.
In fact it is two buildings, the palace itself and the new, contemporary Posadas wing.
Connectingare beautifully laid out private gardens or alternatively an underground walkway and gallery showcasing international and local artists.
Accommodation includes 165 guestrooms and 38 suites, featuring the 1,722-square foot Alvear Suite, with stunning views of the city from a wrap-around balcony.
Twenty-three rooms, including eight suites, are in the Palace and 142 in the Posadas building. The hotel”s 8,000-sq ft spa features a 25m indoor heated swimming pool, gym, and five treatment rooms.
