LONDON was the only European city out of 10 top centres to achieve hotel occupancy above 70% in January 2006. A combination of wide choice and budget options helped London ahead of the likes of Paris, Rome and Amsterdam, TRI Hospitality Consulting found. London occupancy averaged 70.8%, up 2.4 percentage points year-on-year, putting it ahead of Paris with 67.8% and Amsterdam with 64.5%. The other seven cities ” Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Hamburg, Munich, Rome and Vienna ” all averaged below 59%.
