LONDON”S hotel scene continues to change and it is often difficult to keep up with it all. Now finally open is the Quality Crown Hotel Paddington which we first reported on 25 April. Just by the station with very easy access to the Heathrow Express it has 85 air-conditioned rooms. Another hotel we noted on the same date, and this time in the City, the APEX, is now due to open in September/October with 130 rooms. It is positioned between Fenchurch Street Station and The Tower in Seething Lane. And gaining awards from Catering and Hotelkeeper magazine is the City Inn Westminster (left) just by Milbank and five minutes from Pimlico on the Victoria Line Underground and about twice as far from Westminster. Brand new in 2003 it offers free wireless Internet, 24-hour room service and 460 rooms at sensible prices.
