Quality standards specialist ISAAP has launched the first security accreditation scheme for serviced accommodation and corporate housing.
ISAAP, which was purchased by GSA Limited last year, said there was an increased demand for the serviced accommodation sector to “demonstrate commitment to high levels of security” following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stephen Martin, managing director of ISAAP, said: “This new service enables serviced accommodation providers to demonstrate the same high levels of security focus as hotels that have been accredited through GSA’s accreditation schemes.
“This will allow serviced accommodation providers - large and small - to demonstrate their compliance to the highest security standards.”
This addition to ISAAP’s portfolio of products comes as the new ISO 31030 travel risk management standard is being rolled out across the world.
The security accreditation, which will be audited by UK-based SFJ Awards, will cover all types of serviced accommodation, from a single apartment to entire blocks of flats to aparthotels. It will also cover corporate housing providers.
“We’ve been looking at extending our accreditation of serviced accommodation to include this important area of focus,” added Martin.
“ISAAP’s acquisition by GSA last year has provided us with the expertise to deliver three different types of serviced accommodation security accreditation, audited by SFJ Awards.”
The company already offers accreditation and certification in areas such as comfort and quality, as well as compliance for the serviced accommodation sector.
