CITY OF LONDON visitors will be aware that the area known as ”the square mile” has very few hotels with none of the major groups represented.
This will change from January 2007 when the Great Eastern Hotel becomes the Hyatt Regency Great Eastern.
The seller is Conran Holdings and the Blackstone Group for an undisclosed sum.
Located in the Liverpool Street station complex, the historic 267-room hotel is within very easy walking distance of most of the major financial houses.
Originally opened in two phases in 1884 and 1901, the stunning Victorian building was the subject of a major renovation reopening in February 2000.
It boasts four restaurants, five bars and 12 private dining and event rooms.
