DOHA has a new luxury hotel, The Four Seasons. Situated on the on the edge of the Diplomatic District and overlooking the Arabian Gulf, it is very close to the massive city centre shopping and exhibition centre (complete with ice rink) and ten minutes from the airport. The hotel has been elaborately decorated with two large wind towers on the exterior overlooking the beach and hand-carved wooden doors, denoting a Moorish influence. Of the 232 guestrooms, a quarter are suites, including the Royal Suite, a duplex apartment on the 17th floor. The hotel has a private beach, boat marina, and a choice of seven restaurants. The Spa and Wellness Centre, which includes squash and tennis courts, will open in July, and in the meantime a temporary fitness centre has been set up. Four Seasons also tells ABTN that the Canadian group”s Cyprus property in Limassol has opened for business following a ”10m renovation. It is the only hotel in Cyprus and possibly the world, to have double Jacuzzis in all standard guestrooms and not just suites.
