HOVERSPEED the fast ferry operator has come up with an innovative idea to provide passengers with a Kodak digital processing service onboard its Dover ” Calais Seacats. Using equipment not dissimilar to that found in certain high street retailers, passengers can use units now installed on both the Seacat Rapide and Diamant. Prints cost 40p each and the machine is easy to use via touch screen and voice guidance for passengers. Prints can also be processed from infrared or Bluetooth mobile phones, from any make of digital camera or from a CD. Kodak staff will also be available during peak periods to assist passengers using the machines. Whether airlines will install them, even on the Airbus A380, remains to be seen, but you can be sure that airport retail outlets will be weighing up the pros and cons.
