Travel technology provider SABS will launch a new online booking tool (OBT) to TMCs and corporate buyers at Travel Technology Europe today.
SCION is an evolution of SABS’ proprietary OBT, which counts more than 20 of the UK’s leading TMCs and corporates as customers. Last year, SABS said its clients used the technology to fulfil 7.2 million bookings for over 1.5 million passengers, a figure that is growing by 22 per cent on average annually.
SABS managing director Brian Sheerin commented: "Over the years, we have continually updated SABS in line with customer feedback and the evolving needs of their clients and travellers. But with a crisper UI, more modern look and feel, and simplified user experience, this update is such a major leap forward, it’s practically a new product, and that’s why we have renamed it.
“We’re delighted to be able to announce that all existing SABS clients will receive a free upgrade and conversion to SCION. And, importantly, I can also confirm that this is only the start. We have already begun a major back end rewrite to support the new UI, so like SABS, SCION is just going to keep getting better and better.”
Other new features of the OBT include standardisation aimed at simplifying the user experience and mobile capabilities. The tool is also supplier agnostic, meaning users can access inventory from every GDS, as well as simultaneous content integration from Sabre and Travelport.
SABS will be at Travel Technology Europe, co-located with the Business Travel Show, at Olympia London on 26-27 February on stand T112.
