Spanish travel and entertainment group Grupo Travel Live is broadening its use of AI automation technology through its partnership with Acai Travel following an initial phase within its corporate travel division.
The first phase began with Grupo’s travel management company Nautalia Empresas, which saw Acai streamlining corporate travel customer enquiries.
This work has created "real improvements in service efficiency," said Rosa María Martín, Nautalia Empresas’ director of operations, in a statement.
“The AI Agent operates as an invisible co-pilot, supporting our teams and allowing them to focus on the traveller, not their inbox,” she said.
Nautalia Empresas is now working with Acai to expand the project to automate recurring back-office processes.
"We're building a hybrid model where people and artificial intelligence work side-by-side to increase speed, quality and our ability to scale at every customer touchpoint," added Nautalia Empresas director Cecilio Martell.
This partnership will expand beyond Nautalia Empresas to cover the company’s leisure divisions, as well with an agreement spanning Grupo Travel Live's full portfolio.
Nautalia Empresas ranked as the fifth-largest TMC in Spain and the 17th largest in Europe in BTN Europe's most recent Europe's Leading TMCs report. In recent weeks, it was among four Spanish TMCs to be fined by Spain's competition authority for alleged involvement in manipulation of contracts awarded by the Bank of Spain and Complutense University of Madrid.
Another Spanish TMC, Úbico, also recently announced a strategic partnership with US-based Acai Travel to use AI-powered agents to improve service levels. While Madrid-based travel tech giant Amadeus made an investment in Acai last year.
